Actually Eric I disagree with you. Through the use of config edit it allows you to look into each of the conf folders to understand the layout of a multi channel in/out asterisk server.
Using the voip-info wiki while possible is incredulous and difficult (and some of it alarmingly out of date). It's a suggestion you may nto like to see on the asterisk mailing list, but that doesn't make it a bad suggestion.
