In your extensions.conf you probably have:
exten => _9nxxnxxxxxx,1,Dial(ZAP/g1/${EXTEN},180,r)
Change that to:
exten => _9nxxnxxxxxx,1,Dial(ZAP/g1/${EXTEN:1},180,r)
Of couse use the values that you need, not that exact example...
