Ok, I bit the bullet and build wget.
This allows me to build 1.4 branch, which does the same thing as 1.40b2.
It starts up, consumes as much CPU as is available, and is not
responsive to CLI commands or registrations. It's a dead duck.
Anybody out there trying this stuff on OSX?
