What I am thinking is that a CSU could provide mutiple functions, error handling, diagnostics and signal boosting, which is not built into the Panasonic equipment, but the lower level signaling that a CSU could provide is built into it, and that's why it works. As far as I knew before I read it was that it shoudn't work, but according to that documentation it is suppose to work.
