If you are trying to send a call to a users voicemail why don't you just do 
this ?

exten => _3XX,1,Voicemail(${EXTEN:[EMAIL PROTECTED])
(This is assuming that you have 2 digit VM box's and you want to transfer 
the call to 3+VM number).
