It's possible to use the G.723.1 codec with Asterisk by buying a Digium TC400B transcoder card[1]. Without that card, the best Asterisk can do is to pass through the packets, but it can't doing any transcoding to/from G.723.1 without the hardware card. --- Jared Smith Community Relations Manager Digium, Inc.
