Pff, finally found what it was: It had nothing to do with zaptel, and
everything to do with extensions.conf:

exten => s,n,Verbose(${CALLERIDNUM})

;CID at last!
exten => s,n,Verbose(${CALLERID(num)})

I'm running Asterisk 1.4. Does someone know why only the last
statement does display the CID number while the others print nothing?
