Surely this is only appropriate where you have a local analogue device that is unchanging - If you retained the EC status between calls on a trunk line (where the far end will be different for each call), the chances are that it would be inappropriate. I assume you enable/disable this feature per-channel? Or perhaps I am misunderstanding the feature you describe?
