Subject: "Happy Birthday Asterisk"

So I got to drop in on the afternoon sessions of the
http://www.voicepeeringforum.com <http://www.voicepeeringforum.com/>
held in New York yesterday. There's a blogpost here
http://deancollinsblog.blogspot.com/2007/12/vpfan-interesting-yet-frustr
ating.html but really just wanted to say because I didn't see anyone
else say it yesterday "Happy Birthday Asterisk".

Kevin Fleming from Digium gave a session yesterday about Asterisk when
we all realized that Asterisk was 8 years old as of purely by
co-incidence yesterday December 5th.

On December 5th 1999 Mark Spenser released version 0.1.0 ..... and an
industry was born :)

I don't know if the guys at Digium celebrated in anyway but maybe there
can be a big "User Event" in Huntsville in 2 years time on the 10th
anniversary. Just a thought.
