Ok yep now I understand. (in reply to your other email).
As per cookie below - no need. >From your description below your explanation of the application is you don't have a public facing web page but you are looking for people to click on but a personalized list of numbers. In order for someone to access this directory you are going to be asking for a username/password correct? If so just tie the username to a selection of 'my location' checkboxes that I tick and then the app remembers this location next time I log in (eg server side remembers not the client side). You should probably also allow for a 'open field' that I can put any number into in case I'm 'somewhere else' Basically you aren't doing anything earth shattering - just offering a similar service to JaJah but with a list of 'existing' numbers to call. Pretty easy o implement using cal files. You could opt to have the user choose what "location" they're at and then drop a cookie on the user's browser at that location that will allow the browser to "remember" what location it's supposed to be. This isn't without its drawbacks either. There are many users that have cookies disabled because of privacy concerns, but at least with this approach the barrier to get it working again is generally in the hands of the user or their administrator. I fully agree Maybe simply asking when a user logs in is an acceptable compromise. -- Bird's The Word Technologies, Inc. http://www.btwtech.com/ _______________________________________________ --Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com-- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
