What about simply adding the "h" extension?

[sphinx]
exten => s,1,AGI(MisterHouse.agi,"Sphinx Connect")
exten => s,n,Dial(CONSOLE/1,,e)
exten => s,n,AGI(MisterHouse.agi,"Sphinx Disconnect")
exten => s,n,Hangup

exten => h,1,Verbose(Here we are)
exten => h,n,Verbose(Next step)
