I've been using Aastra phones for about 1-1/2 to 2 years now, and never once have I had that problem. I've had the Aastra phones crash (BLF was quite buggy with firmware versions before a certain date), but never have I had Asterisk itself crash because of a phone; not even some cheap phones from Taiwan.
