Considering warehousing, manufacturing and large onsite corporate usage is the primary target focus of DECT telephony it ,makes sense that Polycom are steering their 8002 handset into this space.

That said, you're right they could be provisioned from a TFTP server over the internet is suitable precautions were taken. But then, there may be better solutions for Wifi SIP roaming.
