My box is plugged into the national power network. Oh right - I'm in South Africa and the national power supply company is Eskom. I see your point that it couldn't have been up 38 years. For completeness, I'm sure that the best explanation is that the clock was 1970 when Asterisk started. Its running on a little Xorcom XR1000 unit which probably does not have a cmos clock. Steve
