Freeswitch can provide many PBX features with additional modules, but asterisk can provide more, and its implementations of such items are more time tested. One of freeswitch's big strengths is its ability to handle many SIP registrations. This is not asterisk's strength (at least not historically). One of Asterisk's big strengths is its multitude of services and features. This is not freeswitch's strength.
