I don't mind them providing autoconfiguration, as many of their customers would be lost otherwise, but blocking factory reset and other tricks they play is IMO morally wrong, particularly since the customer paid for the ATA.
I have a locked ATA here and I didn't pay for it. So while I'm not happy it's locked and I can't use it, I can't complain that much as it was free.
