It Mostly works for me; Due to internal security concerns, we use POTS with TDM400 and TDM410P cards for incoming/outgoing service. Here is the short-list of my most common concerns: 1. Some numbers (especially AT&T conferences) never bridge the call, so I have to Answer, then Dial these numbers to make Asterisk keep the connection. 2. Feedback chops some of my conversations, especially on conference calls. 3. Some calls cut off at 1-2 minutes for no apparent reason. 4. Calls take 5-10 seconds to connect and allow conversation (usually manifests as 2 second delay in start of conversation).
Present resolution is to install 1.4.25-rc1. Played with 1.4.24 and 1.6.1 yesterday and have significant loss of joy. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Tiago Durante Sent: Friday, May 15, 2009 9:19 AM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [asterisk-users] help a bald guy Danny, On Fri, May 15, 2009 at 9:35 AM, Danny Nicholas <[email protected]> wrote: > Greetings listers, > I have been running 1.4.21 for about 7 months now, > but have been told I have to move up the 1.4 food chain or into the 1.6 > chain because 1.4.21 is too flaky for our POTS line handling (does funny > things with echo, doesnt connect to external conference calls, etc.). > Which release will give me the most joy/least headache/closest performance > to commercial PBX? In my point of view, any stable release... The performance of the Asterisk PBX is not up to the release, but the implementation.. If you're running this version for 7 months now and it works for you so far, I don't see any reason to update... regards, -- Tiago Durante ,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,., Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did. -- Newt Gingrich _______________________________________________ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users _______________________________________________ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
