That's a problem that needs to be discussed with the provider of those POTS lines..
With POTS lines, each number has a unique number, but the telco builds a "hunt group" for you.. For example, maybe you own phone number 555-1000. Your POTS lines may have 555-1000, 555-1001, etc, all the way to 555-1009 (total of your 10 lines) The telco builds the hunt group so that when you get a call on a busy number in your range, it auto-forwards to the next number in the set.. If they don’t know what a hunt-group is, tell them you need "Call Forward when busy" feature, or "CFB" pointing to the next number in the list.. -Steve -----Original Message----- Easy questions for you guys probably, I’d like to serve 10 parallell incoming calls at the same time, so I bought a lot of Zap-channel cards for analog phone lines. But I want all users to be able to use the same phone number to dial in, but I want the number to be switched to an avaiable zap-channel. Do I need some kind of switch for this? It sounds reasonable, but I’m not sure. Am I clear enough? This must be a normal scenario for Asterisk. For example in conferencing. Dial number xxxxxxx and many people will do this at the same time, and it works somehow Sincerely, Johan _______________ Johan Sandgren Svep Design Center AB Phone +46 46 192 722 Mobile +46 70 173 4152 Box 1233, 221 05 Lund, Sweden E-mail [email protected] Website www.svep.se _______________________________________________ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- AstriCon 2009 - October 13 - 15 Phoenix, Arizona Register Now: http://www.astricon.net asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
