Funny that a small matter like top | bottom | interleaved posting can lead to a situation that is referred to as "a fight" . I agree with Ira that keeping all the original lines in place is very annoying when there are more lines then needed to pick up the discussion. I seem to be a top poster by nature, it never crossed my mind that this could be part of "a fight" or be annoying to others . Sometimes I interleave but I never post at the bottom. Lets take our bits of freedom and consider how to post (not, top, bottom or interleave) as part of our personal style of communicating ;-)
