The "no samples" and "did not update samples" are a matched set (codec_zap 
can't update samples if it didn't receive a frame with any samples to begin 
with).  Given that, I can't be certain why translate is processing a frame 
without any samples.  What version of Asterisk are you using?  Would you be 
willing to send a packet capture of a call that generates this warning?
