Four E1s (120 channels) worth of concurrent faxing is easy, sure, but you're not likely to be able to (or want to) do that in software. Assuming you're looking for a full-featured fax implementation including ECM error correction, V.34 (33.6) speed faxing, as well as real-time image (re)compression for optimal performance, then you're talking about a non-trivial amount of CPU cycles to drive multiple E1 circuits. These cycles are commonly offloaded to a dedicated fax board. There's lots of them out there, including V.17 boards such as those from NMS Communications, Digi/Patton Cyclades, and PIKA Technologies, as well as the more capable V.34-capable boards from EICON and Brooktrout. Of course you'll need robust fax software to power the boards ... there's several good options available on that front too ;-) -Darren -- Darren Nickerson Senior Sales & Support Engineer iFAX Solutions, Inc. www.ifax.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] +1.215.438.4638 ext 8106 office +1.215.243.8335 fax _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
