I suspect you will find the frequency of these messages is the value you
have set for rtpkeepalive.

I would suggest you include the following in your peer's configuration;

rtpkeepalive=0

I don't get where it's configured that Asterisk' default "hard-coded" codec is ulaw... at least that's the information we get from that message, right?
