This will actually depend on the carrier used to place the call from the UK to France. Some carriers remove the caller ID on international calls, some still send it. You might find if you are called by someone different in the UK you do get to see it! Also, the 'exchange' based caller id readout systems tend not to read out international caller id, but there are cases where the caller display devices would do so.
