and what would i need to connect asterisk to 2 normal phone lines
You would need two FXO cards from Digium to connect to two Telco lines. You would need two FXS cards from Digium to connect to two telephones.
Telephone -> FXS + Asterisk + FXO -> Wall (Telco)
If you buy the cards from Digium they will assist you in installing them and getting things up and running. There is an excellent website http://www.voip-info.org/ with information that will assist with AGI development (and everything else as well).
