I've just managed to get hold of a cisco 7940, which looks nice but I'm unable to make it actually do anthing...!
All the online manuals say things like "see your network administrator" which isn't a whole lot of use.
First thing I think I need to do is work out how to set the TFTP server IP as it's using the wrong one (it's ignoring the setting in the DHCP server). When you point a browser at the phone it gives you the settings but no opportunity to set them.
Also, what is the code of the $8 support option and who sells it (it
seems cisco don't sell direct to end users)? The cheapest I've seen is
$100 and if it's that kind of price I'll just see how far I can get with the default firmware.
