There are _lots_ of them that are only 1U high. I'm about to install 3-4 SuperMicro 1U P4 3.0GHz boxes as Asterisk servers; two of them will have T100P cards in them serving PRIs, and two of them will do voice mail/SIP registration/transcoding/etc.
