Say what? OpenPhone MOST CERTAINLY can make/receive calls to/from Asterisk with either asterisk-oh323 or chan_h323.
The H323 asterisk channel provide a bridge between SIP/IAX EP and H323 EP and doesn't act as an h323 gatekeeper. See GnuGK for this.
So then don't tell the EP to register with a GK, just send calls to an H.323 Gateway, Asterisk.
