I just posted my findings on this -- I am seeing the same problem, I didn't 
see your postings until just now...  so it does appear to be something with 
RC1 and IAX2.

Nufone upgraded to RC1 and we're seeing the problem (My * servers were 
20040604, now 20040806 CVS HEAD).
