It's the 'net connection. I have FaxMachine -> FXS -> * -> * -> PRI and it works perfectly. IAX2 ULAW between the two * boxes (one hop, not public internet) FaxMachine -> FXS -> * -> * -> Nufone IAX2 and ULAW again and it's spotty at best.
