Hi,
-----Original Message----- I am able to buy and test a wireless basestation that can connect standard digital cordless phones to a voip system.
The basestation is available in 2 models each supporting a different protocol to speak to the PBX (ether H323 or SCCP).
Any advice what the best protocol would be, H323 or SCCP? (I guess it depends which of the 2 supports the most features under asterisk).
The most features is not my argument of choice: H323 is simply more dependant on other libs (openh323, etc) and more pain to debug (adding gatekeepers and whatnot), SCCP is supported by two drivers (chan_skinny, included in asterisk, and chan_sccp as addon) and is easier to debug/modify.

You are right that I put the wrong question. I guess it's more important to know which of the 2 protocols is best implemented or finished.
I won't be (able to) doing any debugging, but I could try several protocols. I checked the wiki and there are several issues for both protocols. The oh323 protocol is tested with several types/brands of equipment, on the SCCP onlt a problem with one particular phone is listed (does that mean that most other pieces of equipment that speak SCCP simply work)?
If the implementation of SCCP is pretty much finished and stable I will opt for that as a lot more of the practical features are supported on the SCCP model.
Is SCCP used widely with * ?
Thanks!! Remco
