I wonder if someone out there can help.

Asterisk seems not to be recognising my Fritz card despite the drivers being installed as far as I can tell correctly.

I'm runnign Redhat 9; Asterisk 1.0 from CVS; chan_capi is installed (a few errors at first but after a bit of reading I figured it out).

modinfo capi   results in:

filename:    /lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/drivers/isdn/avmb1/capi.o
description: "CAPI4Linux: Userspace /dev/capi20 interface"
author:      "Carsten Paeth"
license:     "GPL"
parm:        capi_major int
parm:        capi_rawmajor int
parm:        capi_ttymajor int

lsmod    shows:

Module Size Used by Not tainted
capi                   20896   0
kernelcapi             33792   1  [capi]
capiutil               24864   0  [kernelcapi]
capifs                  5420   1  [capi]

/var/log/messages contains:

Nov 6 14:10:46 vuur kernel: capifs: Rev 1.1.4.1
Nov 6 14:10:46 vuur kernel: capi20: started up with major 68
Nov 6 14:10:46 vuur kernel: kcapi: capi20 attached
Nov 6 14:10:46 vuur kernel: capi20: Rev 1.1.4.2: started up with major 68 (middleware+capifs)

Yes when I start Asterisk, I get:

[chan_capi.so] => (Common ISDN API for Asterisk)
== Parsing '/etc/asterisk/capi.conf': Found
Nov 6 14:34:22 NOTICE[1076212352]: chan_capi.c:2636 load_module: CAPI not installed!
Nov 6 14:34:22 WARNING[1076212352]: loader.c:334 ast_load_resource: chan_capi.so: load_module failed, returning -1
Nov 6 14:34:22 WARNING[1076212352]: chan_capi.c:2812 unload_module: Unable to unregister from CAPI!
== Unregistered channel type 'CAPI'
Nov 6 14:34:22 WARNING[1076212352]: loader.c:380 load_modules: Loading module chan_capi.so failed!

Can anyone suggest anything?

thanks
