Both have:

disallow=all
allow=ulaw

in the iax.conf file.

Anyone have any ideas how I messed this up?

It may be that there's some error in the way codecs are handled during a native bridge in iaxclient.

Any other iaxclient users/developers do this?

I've never really used the native bridging or transfer stuff..
