If I want to use IAX instead of SIP, do I need to get gateway that
support IAX. Are there such gateways?
I plan to connect 3 to 4 standard phones via gateway with * In addition I don't want to use SIP to setup VoIP. IAX is more suitable for communication over firewall.
Joseph perhaps you can have your clients connect using IAX, and your Asterisk box connect to a SIP server? Right now there aren't that many providers offering IAX support. SIP is by far the more popular, especially with voip hardware vendors.
