I just found out that if you specify dtmf=inbound in your sip configuration (which I did) file it will cause the dtmf not to work with incomming calls. After I removed that setting, the dtmf started to work again. I was able to dial in to my asterisk box and again be able to choose any extension I want. Before it did not want to work.

It is pretty well known that Broadvoice only supports G711u and dtmf=inband. I would contact them if you want better codec support.
