http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/servers_Q4_W5_pedge_1600sc_pe1218?c=uk&cs=ukbsdt1&l=en&s=bsd Dell server ( 2 x PCI-X, 2 x PCI-64, 2 x PCI-32), Xeon 2.4GHz, 256MB RAM, 80GB IDE disk). Currently at 99 quid (+VAT + 50quid shipping). Max two per customer, so rip out memory/disk/CPU from 2nd system and you've got a nice dual Xeon for under 350 quid ... Sorry if a bit commercial - no affiliation with Dell, but seems a good deal for an Asterisk server ... (UK prices anyway).
