Done, I got it compiled. Looks like there was some things changed in kernel 2.6.9 that the newer versions of the zaptel driver have been modified for.

Jay,

Portage is good for many things, but Asterisk and Zaptel is not one of them. Get them both from ftp.asterisk.org and you will be much better off.
