There's a wiki tip that suggests you always put answer and even wait before playback, cause asterisk can pickup a milisec after you've finished dialing, unlike legacy PBXs that always ring at least once. Take a look at http://voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+tips+answer-before-playback
