Jason,

This problem may be happening because asterisk server and PC or hardware phone clock are out of sync .

You need to find a way (e.g. ntp with atomic clock etc) to sync time up to a second on all the devices involved in the network communication.

Hello,

I was monitoring via top and there was plenty of idle
CPU left over. I am not sure that is the problem
either.

I have compiled and installed the format_mp3 and
ensured the module has loaded, but can't seem to get
it to work. There does not appear to be anything on
the subjec of using this add-on on the Wiki.

Does anyone have any details on how to actually make
this work after getting the module installed on
Asterisk?

Thanks for all of the input thus far!

Jason

it's clear that your processor is overloaded.

I don't think so. On my NetBSD systems, I've been
getting this
warning message quite a bit, but more frequently on
the faster ones.
Then I changed to the new, "native", MOH, which uses
format_mp3 (from
asterisk-addons), thus avoiding having an external
MPEG player. The
problem now seems to have disappeared completely. At the same time,
the annoying little dropouts in the MOH sound, which
used to occur
approximately every second, disappeared as well.
