OK, there are a number of issues I have detected. The error message about closing other applications using the sound card is definitly repated to the SIP SUBSCRIBE packets. When I run it from an xterm, on hangup it seg faults. This does not happen when I run it from a KDE panel button. The DTMF tones generated from the on-screen keypad appear not to be recognised by *. -- Howard.
