I have experience that problem on numerous ocassions with Voicepulse Connect service using IAX for inbound service.
DMTF times out or fails to read certain digits(tones).
When had it configured to use SIP for incoming calls, it never failed.

Same problem I'm having with VP Connect. Perhaps it's a question of the version of Asterisk being run. I'm on 1.0.2.
