I agree that using a home phone could be a pain in the middle of the night but I have an available POTS line off my T1 so I made it available for local calls to the 614 area code!

Made me laugh at least :) Another small point is that a lot of countries don't have flat rate calls, and I highly doubt anyone in those countries would be offering their land lines for this kind of service either.
