I assume you don't have to change your distribution, install a historic kernel  
or patch AVM drivers. Instead you may want to take a look at www.isdn4linux.de 
and get the mISDN kernel patch. It provides drivers for AVM Fritz! Card (among 
others) and a CAPI interface.
What you would (for now) have to live with is that these drivers do not yet 
support supplementary ISDN services such as Hold, Retrieve, 3-Party-Conference, 
etc. But normally those aren't needed in an Asterisk box.

For me mISDN works great on SuSE 9.1 (Kernel 2.6.4) with 2 Fritz cards.
