Hi, We had the same trouble. It made me trash the HFC-S cards and now we are running on 2 Fritz! cards on the default Debian asterisk install. Even the chan_capi is included in Debian, and it works great. Dont test the i4l drivers tho, they will give you the same trouble as the zaphfc driver. For the first time in 3 months we now have our * box up and running without any issues for more than a day. So yes, from my point of view, installing chan_capi will solve your issues as it solved mine.
