When I pick up calls on my Sipura I just dial *8# instead of *8.
The # will end the Sipura's dial plan.
If you put *8 into the dialplan, that would work too.

I've in all sip.conf context callgroup=1 pickupgroup=1
in features.conf I've tired: pickupexten = *88 pickupexten = *8
Nothing works. What am I missing?
I found it! It can be solved by defining: pickupexten = 33 ;any unique number
or in Line 1 dia plan (xx.|*xx) ;this permits passing *8 through Line1
