on CISCO 79xx the only way to do it is setup a new line that autoanswers on the phone and configure each phone to do this manually. - Is this still correct?
There was a recent post, look at lists.digium.com for the archives, that detailed an 'auto-answer' script for the 79XX phones. It basically telnets into the phone and presses the answer key! It works, it might not be pretty, but it works. You do have to be careful though, as you don't want this script to execute if you're currently doing anything on your phone - including talking to someone.
