Hi Lyle, I live in Turkey.

Btw, hoping that busydetect or callprogress could detect hangups, I've changed the PSTN tones according to ITU tones-0203.pdf (both in indications.conf and zonedata.c & re-made). But nothing changed, when I debug the zap channel, I can see that * still detects the congestion tone here as ringing.

My current zapata.conf PSTN section is here:

;-------------------------
[channels]
group=1
faxdetect=both

language=tr
context=MainMenu
signalling=fxs_ks

busydetect=yes ; I've turned these 4 lines on and off
hanguponpolarityswitch=yes
callprogress=yes
progzone=us ; I've made the tone changes to the us zone

amaflags=documentation
channel => 4

;-------------------------

Any ideas please?

ADSL splitters should not effect disconnect signals from the telco. You
don't mention your country, so we cann't even guess based on your location.
Telco standards vary widely across this globe we call Earth.

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] DSL splitters and FXO signalling (hangup
detectionproblem)

Hi all,

My * is connected to the same line as my ADSL, of course with an attached
splitter. The problem is that * cannot detect remote side hangups and
continues to service the Zap FXO channel. I tried ks, ls, and gs, without
success, and I think I've read most of the relevant documentation and wiki
pages. I did google search also.

It could of course be that my telco does not provide disconnect
supervision,
but I doubt that. I'll check it with my telco, but for now, I am wondering
if DSL splitters interfere with the FXO signalling in anyway. (I mean
polarity switch and such things that help * detect hangups).

I would appreciate if anyone could help.
Soner
