We have downloaded the bristuff (0.2.0-RC7j) and installed it without problems.

but when we start asterisk it stops at zapata.conf parsing:

IS this all you have inb your zapata.conf??? There should be more. Most notable a [channels] header to show that the info below are for defining the channels.
