John;
I'm trying to flash 7.1. What I followwd was the wiki page you refer to.
My real question is do I need the .load file tftp debug shows the 7960G is asking for? Voipsupply didn't supply it. I'm trying to verify that's what I need befor I start hounding them.

John,
You have to go to 7.1 before 7.3
Also look at this.
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+phone+cisco+79xx
Note:(The 7.1 image upload needs to be spelled P003-07-1-00
in the OS79XX.TXT and P0S3-07-1-00 in the SIPDefault.cnf)
Hope this helps
JB

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Yet another cisco 9760 7.xfirmware failure
Got my first Cisco 7960G from voipsupply this week. Theysent
me the sip firmware upgrades through 7.3.flash.
All went well through 6.X, Then the 7.X firmware upgrade
died with the(7.1.0). Yea, I read the archives and was forwarned :-)
The Universal Application loader flashed just fine, but
feddreaded "Protocol Application Invalid" message.
tftp debug shows it's asking for SEP<hdwraddr>.cnf.xml. I
it the xml script from the wiki "firmware issues on 7940-7960""CTLSEP<hrdwraddr>.tlv". I have no
It's also asking for a file called
idea what this file is so I've just fed it a null filewith the same
name. Any insight to what this file is or if I even needit would be
"P003-07-1-00.loads" which Iwelcome.
Finally, it's asking for a file called
"P003-07-1-00.loads"DON'T have. I'm guessing it's a boot loader of sorts.
Googlin' around seems to indicate that
is suppos' to be part of the cisco firmware release for 7.1.0. If so,it
looks like voipsupply forgot to supply it to me.start
That's what I need to verify, am I missing the file "P003-07-1-00.loads"? If so I can take the weekend off and
something else I'mhounding voipsupply monday morning.
Could someone verify that I'm correct? Or is there
correct filesmissing?
Of course if I'm right, any anonymous donation of the
192.168.1.13 filenamewould be most welcome :-)
This is what tftp is squawking as I write:
Mar 18 19:29:55 xxxx in.tftpd[32676]: RRQ from
CTLSEP<xxxxxxxxxxxx>.tlv <-don't have192.168.1.13 filename
Mar 18 19:29:55 xxxx in.tftpd[32677]: RRQ from
SEP<xxxxxxxxxxxx>.cnf.xml <- from wiki192.168.1.13 filename

Righ now the cisco akes a damn fine sexy door stop.
Thanx in advance
