Yes, I knew that it using the DHCP option would work FTP as well, but only if the phone has been configured for an FTP-type boot server, and only if you have already programmed the username/password into the phone. If you have to do all of that, you might as well put the FTP server's DNS name in there too :-)
If you don't have to change the username/password, then using DHCP only would be useful.
