That is just wrong. You just don't go doing something like that on a business service. And I can't believe that a provider like this (I'm pretty sure I know who it is) doesn't have the ability to route and/or forward traffic for particular DID's so you don't have any downtime. It could be just a coincidence, but my livevoip gateway starts with iax01, and the service I have had over the last week has gotten to the point of not being acceptable. I have also been using teliax. They have good rates and support is a lot more responsive, although I was a bit disappointed when after fighting a problem with iax bridging for several hours I found out it was on their end, but the bug was not posted anywhere on their site and they were evidently aware of the problem. For business critical stuff, I would do as the other poster said and get your 800# from a major carrier. Kind of defeats the purpose in some cases, but if it has to be up that's the only way I know. Unfortunately I don't trust any of these resellers yet to be able to provide completely reliable service. Some of it is simply because they are resellers and are twice removed from the source of the problem. They have to rely on someone else to fix it, and that usually takes time.
